Universal Hockey Appoints Markus Phillips as New Director of Player Development

[TORONTO, JAN 11, 2024] — Universal Hockey, a leading name in the world of ice hockey development, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Markus Phillips as the new Director of Player Development. Phillips, an accomplished professional ice hockey player, dedicated skills coach, and Universal Hockey alumni, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the organization.

Markus Phillips, a native of Port Perry, Ontario, began his hockey journey at a young age, eventually climbing the ranks to play professionally. His impressive career includes representing Canada at the U18 & U20 IIHF World Junior Championships, winning an OHL Championship with the Guelph Storm, and being selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. 

In his new role as Director of Player Development at Universal Hockey, Markus Phillips will oversee the development programs for young athletes. His extensive knowledge of the game, coupled with his passion for helping players reach their full potential, makes him the perfect choice for this position.
